Stemming from the popularity of DSLR cameras in film-making, we have added the Sound Devices Mix Pre-D to our audio inventory. A really neat feature of this mixer, is the stereo mic output for cameras such as the Canon 5D/7D, Nikon D800 etc. The breakout cable (included with rental) sends both left and right channels to the camera in a single-cable. The connector at the mixer-end is a locking mini XLR connector, meaning a robust and reliable connection. The Mixer can take a mic or line input, and can provide 48v phantom power, meaning professional microphones can easily be interfaced with DSLR cameras.

This new fixture has plenty of grunt, but is small enough to be operated on a standard 10amp household power circuit. The kit includes a flicker-free ballast and a box of lenses to help shape the beam. It is a great companian to our smaller 575w HMI PAR, and can be supplied with a great selection of frames, cutters and scrims. We can supply the fixture with either a 1.8Kw or 1.2Kw lamp installed.

This new frame utilizes a very neat feature from Matthews called ‘Quick Corners’ which allow the frame to be put together without the need for additional corner pieces or joiners. The joining mechanism is built right into the actual frame. Each side of the frame locks in easily to the adjacent edge, and the entire frame can be up within minutes. The frame can be supplied with both a silent scrim, and an ultra-bounce/negative combo. Great for those shots that need a bit more coverage than our 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 frames.
