HDMI to SDIHDMI to SDI
The Blackmagic Design HDMI to SDI mini converter can be used to convert the HDMI signal out of a camera into an SDI signal.
This makes it easier to run vision to monitors around set, as SDI can be run greater lengths over BNC cable, and the BNC connections are far more robust and reliable than HDMI.
The way we normally see this used is with a short HDMI cable out of the camera to the mini converter mounted on-board, then BNC cable out of the converter to monitors on set.
This converter also has an internal battery.
Please note the TV Logic 5.65" Monitor has an HDMI to SDI converter built-in, so that is possibly a better solution if you're hiring an on-board monitor as well.
